Same-day delivery is often possible when an order is placed before 10 a.m. and the customer has some flexibility on size. Next-day delivery is more typical for orders placed later in the day, and 2 to 3 business days is the safer estimate for routine planning. During peak construction and event seasons (spring through early fall), 3 to 5 days of lead time is realistic.

For projects already on the calendar, booking three to four business days ahead provides the most flexibility on size, time window, and placement. For urgent requests — flood cleanup, an event with a sudden RSVP spike, or an accelerated contractor schedule — call us directly and we'll work the fastest option available.

The right size depends on the scope of the project and the density of the debris. A single bathroom remodel typically fits in a 10 or 15 yard dumpster — with the 10 yard preferred when significant tile or concrete backer board is being removed, since dense materials reach weight limits before filling the bin. Master bathroom gut renovations and full kitchen remodels generally call for a 20 yard. Multi-room renovations and additions step up to a 25 or 30 yard, and whole-house renovations or major demolitions fall in the 30 to 40 yard range.

For roof tear-offs, a 20 yard handles roughly 2,500 to 3,000 square feet of single-layer asphalt shingles. Larger homes, multiple layers, or architectural shingles usually require a 30 yard. When choosing between two sizes, sizing up is generally the better decision — the price difference is typically far smaller than the cost of a second haul, and renovation projects often generate more debris than initially expected.

For construction and job sites, a common rule of thumb is one standard portable toilet per 10 workers for a 40-hour work week, with weekly servicing. Crews working longer hours or with limited break times typically need an additional unit. ADA-accessible units are required on most public-facing job sites and are recommended on any site where access could be a factor.

For events, a rough guideline is one unit per 50 guests for a 4-hour event, scaling up with longer durations and alcohol service. A 200-guest wedding with a six-hour reception, for example, generally calls for at least 5 to 6 standard units plus an ADA-accessible unit, with hand-wash stations recommended where food is served. For dumpsters, in most cases, no — if the bin sits entirely on private property such as a driveway, yard, or private parking lot. A Right-of-Way (ROW) permit is required when any portion of the dumpster occupies public space (street, sidewalk, or alley). Commercial properties may also be subject to local commercial-waste-storage rules, which vary by city. For portable toilets, permits are rarely required for private residential or job-site placement. Public events held in city parks, on closed streets, or at municipal venues sometimes require a sanitation plan or a special-event permit — these are typically managed by the event organizer. Roll-off dumpster pricing is a flat rate that includes delivery, a set rental period (typically 7 to 10 days), pickup, disposal, and a maximum tonnage allowance. Final pricing varies by size, location, landfill fees, and fuel — most quotes land between roughly $350 and $700 for residential and light-commercial sizes. Longer rentals, additional tonnage, and same-day rush requests are billed at published add-on rates.

Most general construction debris, household junk, furniture, appliances (with refrigerants removed), wood, drywall, flooring, roofing material, and yard waste are accepted. Heavy materials — dirt, brick, concrete, and asphalt shingles — are accepted in dedicated heavy-debris bins (typically 10 or 12 yard) where the size is matched to the material's weight, not its volume.

Prohibited items typically include hazardous waste, paint, oil, batteries, tires, propane tanks, mattresses (in some markets), electronics, and refrigerants. Mixing prohibited material with general debris can trigger contamination fees from the landfill. When in doubt, ask before loading — your account manager can confirm what's accepted in your market.
